At about 37 cm in length, about three for a toddler, more like ten for an adult. They are pretty slimy though, hard to hold onto.

You really have to be more specific. What species?? Human, rodent, bovine, canine, feline, or within my expertise, marsupial.

Then of course you have to define the age of the "jump roper". That would help determine the rope length needed.

I'm not trying to be picky, but an honest question deserves a will thought out and complete answer.

Now, if you are in an area where possum are plentiful, I would suggest using them. Good to eat and lots of cord. 5 Ought to do it for a pre-teen. However for a training boxer, you may need 8. Depending on his weight classification.
