Emergency pills ? Not sure what you mean, but if you think you can take one or even two BC pills to avoid pregnancy, think again. The reason you need to take BC pills daily is for them to get into the system and function on a normal cycle.

If you're having sex on a regular basis, birth control pills are much more effective than the day after pill. The day after pill is only 89% effective and that number decreases each time you use it. If you don't plan on having sex on a regular basis, but you think you might "slip up" at a party or something, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it on hand. TAKE IT AS DIRECTED! It won't work if you don't. With only 89% success rate, you need to make sure you take it as directed. Also, it won't terminate an established pregnancy.

Birth control pills only make your body think you're pregnant, so your ovaries will not release an egg during ovulation. Taking the pill to prevent pregnancy after sex will not work.
