No, sorry, Sunshine. Very little to give thanks for, over here! We do have a very quaint November celebration though - Guy Fawkes Night. November the 5th, that is. All to celebrate the execution of some poor man who has been branded a terrorist traitor. His effigies are burned on bonfires amidst sausages and baked potatoes cooking in the ashes, and there are full-scale firework displays nation-wide. There's even a little song. In case you don't know it, allow me to introduce it here:
"Rememebr, remember
The 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot!
I see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!"
When I was a kid, and I am quite close in age to you, it was THE night of the year to look forward to.
Recently, it has been seen as being incorrect, not only politically, but environmentally too. No big deal anymore, so kids have begun to follow the North American style of celebrating Hallowe'en (and even that is not correct either, as it is imposes on private individual rights etc., but it is supposed to be safer than letting off fireworks.)
With so much going on in November, and with Diwali so soon before in October, we couldn't fit in another festival or celebration if we tried!
Did Thanksgiving stem from the safe arrival of the Mayflower and the survival of the descendants thereafter?
If so, we might be able to fit in another celebration at the time the Mayflower set sail ... I mean no disrespect to anyone! But seems like a good idea ...?

What do you concentration on a rip off? once you imagine those who personal cottages ought to pay Council tax, water prices, loan, cleaners, promotion prices, breakage, and damage, commonly used upkeep, and upkeep, diverse insurances, electricity costs, gas costs, and many extra expenditures, the final public do not look to appreciate, to boot as make a income. i look after a cottage in Cornwall, and in case you purely knew how badly some people manage people's residences, you've some know-how of why the prices are saved severe. we've had to change bedding, 2 showers, replaced stolen products, renewed doors, repaired paintwork, deep wiped clean carpets, and that replaced into purely contained in the previous three hundred and sixty 5 days. i don't experience that £350 for a week in August is a "rip off" once you concentration on a week in a grotty "Haven" caravan will set you decrease back round £900 for a week in August. it really is what my chum paid for a week in Perranporth very last three hundred and sixty 5 days. i desire I have given you an perception into how expenditures are calculated for cottage leases, they don't protect, run, and sparkling themselves.people must be paid!!!
