I stopped taking my birth control pill on Oct 22nd. I just started my period today (I was a week later than I was while on the pill) and I am trying to figure out when the best days are for me to try to conceive. I know that it is about 14-16 days after the start of your period that you ovulate but what would be the best day or days to have sex??? And I have to say that getting sex out of my husband is sometimes like pulling teeth, its a struggle. So Im trying to find the best day that it would be most likely cuz well when you dont have sex as much as you would like it can be harder to conceive ya know. Any serious advice is welcome........

There is nothing wrong with my husband. Its not like we are newlyweds, we have been married for 13 yrs. He works alot and his job is stressful. Hes kinda iffy about having another child. He has said that yes he wants another one but then another time he says it may not be the right time. But I dont plan on going back on my BC.

I understand what you are going through. My husband usually wants it all the time, but when we are ttc, the stress of having to perform on command makes it more of a struggle.

My suggestion is to start charting your daily basal body temperatures. This will help you learn when YOU ovulate. Not all women ovulate on days 14-16. You need to buy a basal thermometer (also called a fertility thermometer). You can buy one at most drug stores for about $10. Take your temp every morning as soon as you wake up, but before getting out of bed. You can learn more about charting your temps and chart them for free at fertilityfriend.com. BBT charts are useful tools to help your OBGYN diagnose certain fertility problems. This was the first thing my OB had me do when I told him I was ttc. He also told me to have sex every other day from day 10 of my cycle until day 20.

Fertility decreases with age, so although you have another child, it might be a little harder to get pregnant now. Your cycle may have changed as well. Finding out if and when you are ovulating regularly can help you better pinpoint the days you need to have sex. Supposedly, the best days for conception is to have sex the 2 days prior to and the day of ovulation.

Best of luck to you.

Your husband doesn't want to have sex everyday???????

Well, since you know about 14-16 days, I'll say count and the 10 day start having sex day yes and day no, so that you could have a better chance.

I hope it works out for you. Good luck

you need to find out what is wrong with your husband first that really isn't that normal. Does he want a child also? I would say have sex every other day to increase your chances. If he wants a child he needs to be willing to have sex or it aint gonna happen.
