Sometimes I wonder. I have known a few men in these positions that were "Honorable" but, as we learn from History, with power comes corruption. It human nature.
I know this is going to sound nuts. But, sometimes I think what it be like if I had a Star-ship like on Star-Trek. Fly through space. Soon my fantasy comes back down to Earth. I start thinking; "Yea, I could take over the World and place a good and caring Government into place! Ha! OK, then how do I keep the control? I will rule with an "Iron Fist" Yea, a person do someone wrong I show the World my fair and just punishment. Then from example the World will live in peace!
Hmmmm? What have I just explained? What has my mind envisioned as what is right or wrong?
Then I think to myself, with power, corruption does come! I think I just stay the simple, poor, caring person I am now. I not want to be rich, I not want to be President, I just want to care about people in my on small little life. Because from my fantasy I see, that no matter how good a man/woman is, with "Power" comes "Corruption"!

My brother is in the state legislature and I know him to be an honorable man. I also know he's not alone. There are many people in local, state and federal government who are trying to do a good job. Unfortunately the corrupt ones get all the press.

Well, even if it is hypocritical, it is still a matter of etiquette. The respect is due to the person's position, even if the person is not worthy of the respect.
