a guy i was talking to lied about talking to another girl well I told the girl although she didnt care was I wrong?

There is no law against talking to someone of the opposite sex if you are in a relationship. And even if there was, it's not your place to tell the girlfriend about it either. Obviously, you cared more about it than anyone directly involved. And you sound like a snitch.

A lie is a lie and you cannot feel resposible for someone else telling a lie. After all it was surely not a secret and why keep a lie secret.....lies always bite you in the backside eventually.
