No, I haven't heard of it, and, as far as I can see, ashwagandha in traditional Indian and Ayurvedic medicine is used against tumors, inflammation (including arthritis), and a wide range of infectious diseases. Traditional uses of ashwagandha among tribal peoples in Africa include fevers and inflammatory conditions. (It is also s frequently a constituent of Ayurvedic formulas, including the relatively common one known as shilajit).

Ashwagandha stimulates the activation of immune system cells, such as lymphocytes. This may support the traditional reputation of ashwagandha as a tonic or adaptogen —an herb with multiple, nonspecific actions that counteract the effects of stress and generally promote wellness. So, if someone has not been well, and this accounts for a low sperm count, then maybe Ashwagandha can help that person's health, which will lead to an increased sperm count.

There are many causes of low sperm count. Go look at:

Ill-health is just ONE of the things that can cause it. If you (or someone you know) is having a problem, then go to a doctor or a fertility clinic. They are the best people to diagnose what can be done.

Good luck.
