Barely any... I didn't put on significant weight until near the end of my pregnancy when the baby also gained most of his weight. I gained about 25 lbs in all, and didn't see any significant gain in the first trimester.
Here are some guidelines about what to expect your next 2 trimesters (weight gain is only given for the 2nd and 3rd because the first is usually insignificant)
Weight Change During the Second and Third Trimesters:
Underweight women should gain 1 - 1½ lbs each week.
Normal weight women should gain an average of 1 lb each week.
Overweight women should gain ⅔ - ¾ lb each week.
Obese women should gain ½ lb each week.
Individual nutrition counseling is encouraged to assure adequate nutrient intake. It is important for your baby to get proper nutrition from the foods you eat. So choose wisely.

My first trimester will be over on Friday and I have lost 5 lbs so far. But the morning sickness is finally starting to slow down so the weight should start coming up soon.

I lost 12 lbs. I was slightly overweight when I got pregnant. I'm at 35 weeks right now and I'm only 4 lbs over my prepregnancy weight as it is. My doctor actually cheers when I gain weight each week now. :D
It's normal to gain only a few pounds or even lose a few pounds in the first trimester.

you shouldn't put on very much. Most of your weight will be gained towards the later part of your second trimester and during your third trimester... this is when the baby really grows a lot.

I was overweight when I was pregnant, so I didn't gain any. There was no reason to. During the pregnancy, I gained 14 lbs. 7 lbs of that was baby, the rest was placenta and fluids. 2 weeks after the birth, I weighed myself and had lost 30 lbs. How neat is that? *L*
Just remember that you're not "eating for two"--that's a myth. The baby will take what it needs and the rest will go to your hips. You only need an extra few hundred calories per day when you're pregnant. The most important thing is to make sure what you're eating is quality food, not junk, so your baby is getting the best nutrition. The rest will take care of itself.

My doctor told me no more than 3 pounds per month. I gained 17 1/2 pounds total. People said things to me about not gaining alot of weight but my beautiful daughter weighed in at a very healthy 8 pounds. And I lost all but 4 pounds during birth.

i lost about 2-3 pounds then regained that so actually none. i'm 16 weeks now and still haven't gain but maybe 1/2 a pound. i think it depends on some factors like, are you sick, and i also don't think that you really don't gain too much the 1st trimester, but don't quote me on that

Oh yeah! Sure!! Drink till the end of the second trimester... IF you want health problems with your baby! Do not listen to your bf for pregnancy advice, obviously he has no idea of what he is talking about. You should not drink any alcohol the second you get a positive test. Goodluck

With my first pregnancy, I lost 10 pounds because the morning sickness was so bad. With my second, I gained about 8 or so. As long as you're eating healthy, and not over-doing it, you should be fine. Remember to walk walk walk!!!
