There are some fish, such as a raphael catfish, that make sounds when they are at the surface or when they come out of the water. Some call them "talking catfish." And like someone else said, dolphins make sounds to talk to each other and mate. It depends on the species of the fish, but they all have ways to communicate to each other, whether it is through sounds or not.

Fishes might be talking between each other. They definitely might be communicating. If BY TALKING u mean does they communicate, YES they do. Without communication, no one can survive. Now check that out, when u go in front of an aquarium, they will greet u, they will come forward showing that they know u....that is the time to feed them acording to me, i do likewise...after they were fed, they go on their way roaming and so...even u look at the aquarium, keep a tab on all the fishes u have, u can find out which one is sick, is the water quality good, is it the time to change the water and all...though it is stupid to ask whether the fishes talk or not, its better to ask whether they communicate or not.... :)
