As most folk have said of course it is the Pacific although all the world's oceans can be thought of as one giant system in terms of ocean currents etc - the 'world ocean' if you like.

Interestingly if you go back in time to the Permian period some 300 million years ago when there was really only one continent 'Pangaea' (literally 'all lands'), when you think about it there was only really one ocean too.

It was roughly the same size as all of the modern Earth's oceans combined- geologists call it 'Panthalassa' (which means 'all seas' in Greek)
