I SWEAR... Im trying to be as nice as possible to him, but he is always crappy towards me. I say GOOD MORNING, and I be cheerful when Im around him and then he gets in these crappy moods and I dont know why, but he gets mean to me. He ignores me, he wont talk, doesnt say anything.... I try not to take it too seriously because I really love my job and dont want to quit.... but DANG... Why is he so grumpy all the dam time???
SECOND PART: I work with 4 guys and me. I work as a secretary in a GLASS SHOP, like windshields, cabinet glass, storm windows..etc... So, I want to get them something nice, but not too expensive (broke college student) I was thinking gift card to menards... what do you all think?

If you like your job, try not to take your boss' attitude personally. Who knows what is on his mind or what is going on in his personal life. Maybe he is just preoccupied, or just has a cranky personality. If he's not complaining about your work, then it probably has nothing to do with you.
Menards gift card sounds good. In fact it sounds so good I may get one for my boss this year. Thanks for the idea!

Sometimes the "boss" might be aware of things that employees might not see on a day to day basis. Little things such as the bottom line or increasing manufacturing costs that are driving down the profitability of the business. Who knows what could be causing it. My suggestion to you would be to ask him the next time you think he is being grumpy. You could ease into in by simply saying something like, "Is there something I could do to help you today? You seem a little stressed out. Is everything okay?"
As for the guys in the office, you could get them gift cars as you suggested, but that could be a little expensive. You do something nice that they will enjoy just as much without spending a lot of money. Try making them each a plate of Christmas cookies. I don't know a man alive that doesn't like Christmas cookies. Plus, remember the old say, "The fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach." They'll love you for it....provided you can bake. :)

Are you perhaps trying to hard to be personal with him? OK, I am trying NOT to to comment on the bathing suit picture but if you "chose" to present yourself like this on yahoo.... it makes me wonder how you present yourself at work. Are you professional? How do you present yourself? As long as you are professional and courteous then it's his problem or personal issues. If your too friendly or overwhelming that could make an older or marry man uncomfortable.
For the gift thing- perhaps you should arrange a secret Santa or Pollyanna to do with the guys- sounds very strange for a secretary to just be giving gifts to everyone. Not to be nasty but if our secretary did that- I would take it as desperate attempt for attention or for everyone to like you. And it's not your job to buy everyone gifts- but having a secret Santa is fun and will save you some money only having to buy 1.

Makes me ask your self why he did no longer inform you related to the attention appointment on Friday. Appointments right here take approximately 6 weeks to 2 months to e book. only fill interior something of the day, circulate abode and have some hen noodle soup and relax. depart a word for him which you're ill and isn't in day after today. I ? turning the tables on my boss.

Your boss just may be the grumpy type. Who knows maybe his wife kicked him out of bed or he needs a good cup of coffee. I wouldn't worry about his attitude. Far as getting the guys a present I wouldn't do it, unless y'all pick names out of a hat for X-mas presents (then you would just buy that one person a gift). However, you didn't say it was for X-mas, so as far as just buying them presents just because you are a nice person, don't do it.
1) They may think you are trying to buy favors from them.
2) Their girlfriends or wives wouldn't like another woman buying their men presents (specially if you look like your Icon).
3) It would change the type of relationship y'all have in the office from business to personal.

Bosses, especially if they are "middle managers" and not apparently neccesary for the success of a business, have to "put employees in their place" to show that 1. They are boss and that 2. they are worth having around (the eternal fear of management people). 3.)They think that leadership can be substituted by acting like loud, angry drunks and blaming the most trivial thing on someone else, issuing stupid memos and getting rid of any employee they can't strike fear into. 4.) It could just be that he wishes he could have a woman like you, leave if he tries anything funny.

Sorry about the boss! He might have something going on at home?
As for a gift???? Go with food! Bring a meal for everyone at work one day, make sure everyone will be there. It will cost you less than gift cards and is more personal if you make something homemade.

Maybe your boss is pissed that he doesn't think he has a chance to date you. Or maybe he is trying to stay away because he is married.
As for the second part, I think the gift idea should be yours. It's actually sweet you're thinking of getting them something.
