My husband bought EVERY KIND of razor you can possibly imagine (including electric). Nothing worked. He then started using something called Magic Shave. It's a powder that you mix with water and is basically a depilatory (no blades). Kind of like Nair for men. Hasn't had a razor bump since.

I used every type of razor made, from straight razors with a shaving brush, to an electric razor with 3 or 4 heads, foil shavers...you name it. Honestly, the rotary head shavers never gave me a close shave and did seem to give me more problems as far as ingrown hairs are concerned. I had much better results with the foil head shavers like a Remington 4 head. Closer than a blade was not a selling gimmick. It really did shave close without leaving a rash or ingrown hairs.

No. Often those shavers don't shave close enough to allow for ingrown hairs. The downside is that you will not have a face (or whatever region you are thinking about) as smooth as a baby's butt.
