should cd-r / dvd-r discs go in (black) general waste bags or recycle bags (red/green)?

That is going to depend on your local recycle facilities and what they are capable of. I would guess you should treat them as standard trash, but it would be best to call your local office, their number should be on your monthly bill or in the phone book.

CDs make perfect bird scarers when tide up in your garden. If you haven't got a garden then they go in the general waste bag.

if u believe in recycling etc u might tryusing them as coasters to put your coffee mugs on. They are flat and mugs wont wobble on the edge and they look cool!
