Yes, it effectivley burns calories, but if your going to try to use it as a dieting technique, forget it, it doesn't burn THAT many calories.

Yoga is a very good calorie burner. that is totally solid exercising. mixed with ingesting healthful, you may shed pounds by doing it. besides the undeniable fact that, Bikram Yoga (a.ok.a. warm Yoga) doesn't burn any extra energy than different Yoga. performing exercising in warmth doesn't burn extra energy than performing an similar exercising in cooler parts.

It's great if you are getting into it, but not if you just lay there.
