Fenugreek is safe when breastfeeding but I don't think it's that effective. I tried it and only saw a minimal increase in my milk supply (I was an exclusive pumper, so it was easy to see how diet affected my supply)

Nursing more often and drinking lots of water will help increase your supply... and so will oatmeal. Seriously! When I was lactating, I had two bowls of oatmeal a day and I snacked on Cheerios and oatmeal cookies. With oatmeal, I pumped at least 2 oz. more milk at every session. At the end of the day, I was ahead by one extra bottle. Plus, oatmeal is much cheaper than fenugreek and tastes a lot better, too.

I've had to use fenugreek to increase my milk supply twice. I started to take it after consulting with a breastfeeding consultant, my OB/GYN and my son's pediatrician. It seems safe to use.

I was told to take about 5/6 pills a day or until my sweat/uring started to smell like maple syrup! It's true that you'll start to smell like maply syrup- it doesn't seem to effect the baby.

It's available at all major vitamin stores and I hope it'll work if you need it. It also helped a couple of my friends boost their supply as well. Good luck!

ive never heard of fenugreek. if you want to increase your milk supply, bring baby to the breast often or you could try using a breast pump after or in between feeds. this will stimulate the breasts to produce more milk. Also, make sure you are drinking plenty, and eating healthy snacks throughout the day

don't know anything about fenugreek to increase milk supply. easiest, safest way to increase it is to either nurse more often, or pump one side while nursing on the other. your body will make as much as you demand of it. drink plenty of water....at least a gallon a day.

The best and safest way to increase your milk supply is to put the baby to the breast to nurse as often as you can... extra stimulation and suckling will stimulate milk production... and get as much rest as possible and drink plenty of fluids (without caffeine)

I breastfed all seven children... and never found anything else that worked better :)

It is a natural herb that is used for curry and to give flavor to maple syrup. What it does is increase your body fluids, so will sweat a little more. Your urine and sweat will also smell mildly of maple syrup. Yes, it does increase your supply and you only have to take it a few times a day for a few days.
