Quotes from Lord of War - (starring Nicholas Cage) Excellent film and these say it all.

'Bullets change governments far surer than votes. '

'You know who's going to inherit the world? Arms dealers. Because everyone else is too busy killing each other.'

'Where there's a will, there's a weapon.'

'...there are more prestigeous assignments. Keeping track of nuclear arsenels - you'd think that more critical to world security. But it's not. No, nine out of ten war victims today are killed with assault rifles and small arms - like yours. Those nuclear weapons sit in their silos. Your AK-47, that's the real weapon of mass destruction.'

Mohammed Ali!

You have asked a question which is raised by atleast all the people in the world minus the politicians.

Let me try to answer you.

I have seen wars with my own eyes. I was in Kuwait in 1990 when Saddam occupied Kuwait. There has been killing and looting by the Iraqi insurgents. Finally they were driven out by American allied forces.

What was the result of this war. Loss of so many lives. Atrocities by the army. Looting of goods. War crimes.

More than this is the capturing of persons who resist the war, called the Prisoners of War (POW). War crimes are considered to be the worst of all.

You may not know the war crime done to the enemies. It is invariably involves a killing, or a rape or removal or organs like eyes etc..

What is pathatic is the POW. The head of the family will be taken by the army as POW and will be kept in a cell, which nobody knows. Saddam used to move the prison cells constantly to avoid the findings through American satellites. You may think Americans are bad when the Iraqi prisoners were treated bad in the jail, when the media exposed it.

But look at the justice! Will you spare some one who comes your home takes away your parent forcefully and keep him under his custody till life?

Where is justice Ali?

Yes war definitely mean money, because there are expenses. Assume some one has to pay you back but refuses to pay. You resort to your local aides. Sure you will need to spend money, because you have a vested interest on your returns from them.

Everyone loves peace. Peaceful living is the birth right of every species on the earth. But, when there is a war, there is a damage. You can not call it as suffering.

Ali, I want to quote to you one thing,

Krishna says, for the peace of a family, you can sacrifice one individual,
for the peace of a community you can sacrifice a family
for the peace of a town you can sacrifice a community
for the peace of a country you can sacrifice a town

for the peace of world you can sacrifice a country.

I am not against innocent people who are affected by war, but I am for the peace of the world.

We use to spend sleepless nights with fear in Kuwait, when Saddam was said to possess the WMD and chemical warfare missiles.

What would have happened if he has activated them? A massacre? Are you going to justify his action by any means?

I have visited Baghdad after the American occupation in 2003. I have visited several times Baghdad after the war. I have experienced bombings around me. Atleast 200 bombs as I counted in one night during May 2004, near Baghdad Airport, near my tent. I was prepared for the worst! Why?

Because I felt, selling my Generators to the US army will help them to protect more lives than my own life! I had a greater interest on the people of Iraq.

Ali,

Please remember, a genuine war is not against innocent people or against human or against religion,

It is for the peace of people.

Let God bring Peace on Earth!

It is far, far more complicated than what you state. In the good old days war meant a fight for good over the bad. Not anymore . Today you donot know which side is good and which bad.

The other angle is , rather , more alarming. You rightly said "war means money" . Money for who? money for the large companies that are manufacturing all warfare... be it planes , tanks, artillary ..you name it. If these companies didnot manufacture them what will happen to the country`s economy? So ( these affected countries say) keep the conflict going hoping war will erupt.

It is like creating an artificial scarcity. People start hoaring to avoid being without. What an irony!

war means millions of life periishing. the war-mongers wreak havoc with the lives of innocent human beings.so it has been said by Einstein that ,"i can't say what would the W W -Third be like but i' m sure that there will never the W W fourth."Given two wars of past century ,the third one would leave no life behind to wage another war.-this is most sure to come about.

Causes of war
The causes of war are many and varied. Some of the more common or notable situations which prompt war are:

1) When there are no other perceived options for resolving differences or grievances.
2) In the face of a perceived immediate threat from an aggressor.
3) When one party desires something another has.
4) In the case of an immediate need to secure essential resources for survival, such as food, water or shelter.
5) When areas of a country (such as provinces, states, and colonies) desire independence from that country.
6) As the result of a long standing hatred between nations that has built up over a number of years (rivalry or other antagonisms).
7) When belief in one nation's or race's superiority over others prompts that group to cast aside people it sees as inferior.
8) As a result of antagonism caused by different interpretations of some religion among different parties.
9) As a result of Ideological differences between different parties. For example, Nazism's hatred of Communism contributed to the outbreak of war between Germany and the Soviet Union during the Second World War. The Sino-Soviet Split nearly became an armed conflict between the Soviet Union and China over the goals of Communism.
10) When some party wishes to pursue global domination..

Not everyone wants war. It is probably safe to say that the majority do not want war and of those that do, if they truely understood the suffering involved, they would not want it either.

You are right, but there are greedy people who want power over other people and other countries. There are those who are not able to accept other people's beliefs and culture and so wage war against them.

You need a lot of money for a war...but money can also be earned in peace.

because we are ignorant and liars. We just try to protect our reputation too much. We are too self concerned about ourselves not other people. we lie to keep our image looking healthy, we ignore consequences and facts before we enter the war.
