Clay was gust co-host on Friday. Kelly was monopolizing an interview and Clay jokingly went to put his hand over her mouth. Maybe not the best thing to do. But seriously he couldn't get a word in edgewise. And he was the CO-host! But then she was almost openly hostile to him the rest of the show. And this morning too!
Hey Kelly, get over yourself.

While I am sure Kelly was probably her chattering self Clay just showed what an idiot HE is by putting his hand over her mouth!
Joking or not!!!
I for one would have slapped the living sh!t out of him if he had done that to me.
That or someone popping me on the a$$ w/ a dish towel has to be my biggest pet peeves.
He is supposed to be Southern (as am I) & was taught some manners.
Not to mention that is NOT very sanitary!!!
I don't give a rat's a$$ who he is!!!
She sure managed to get some air time during all of this TomKat wedding so I thought that in itself was kinda funny, though...
Reg certainly looked very uncomfortable while she was going on about it.

I am so outraged about this whole Clay thing. I saw the show, and I was appalled by his disrespectful behavior. I think Kelly handled the situation very well, demonstrating the professionalism and class which has made me a huge fan of hers.
I was even more outraged by Rosie O’Donnell’s accusation on “The View” today. I cannot believe that she said that, and I am so proud that Kelly called in to set the record straight. Once again, she did a fantastic job, and I couldn’t have been more proud of her.
As a gay man and a physician, I want you to know that he had no right to do that to you. First of all, she is a mother…and that alone is reason enough for her to be respected. Hands are the number one route for transmission of viral and bacterial infections, and no one should EVER place his hand over another person’s face. Second, he was on HER show. What was he thinking? At least show the respect for that. He NEVER in a million years would have done that to Regis.
I’m VERY disappointed with Rosie for changing the spin on this thing, and for not dealing with the issue at hand.
He’s just lucky it wasn’t me that he did that to. He wouldn’t have that hand.

He was disrespectful. What makes it worse, though he was joking, he has no prior relationship with Kelly to make it alright to make a joke like that. I also think its ridiculous to say she is a hypocrite with the new footage released of her covering Regis's mouth. It is their show and they have known each other for years and Kelly would know when it was appropriate to cover Regis's mouth in a joking way. The way Kelly did it to Regis was in no way disrespectful. The major difference would be that Regis was no conducting an interview when Kelly covered his mouth. And I seriously think that Clay would have never have done the same thing to Regis. That is what makes it disrespectful. I think the question and comments you made are bias.

you are totally correct,. Clay was the guest host. Maybe she was on a Power trip. If you have seen the show before Regis kind of does that to her . but she ws so rude. I felt sorry for Clay. I stated to the people viewing with me that she was rude and that If I were Clay I would have walked out. he did what he had to Shut her up. ... She needs to do some of her own damage control... View the tape ( the beginning was great it was the interviews with the dancing with the stars interviews-) and see her wrong doings as she called out Rosie. but doubt that will ever happen. .........bets anyone....

You are SOOOO wrong - prior to him shoving his hand over her mouth, he was totally rude and downright nasty! Who the %&*$ does he think he is...he acted so full of himself I just couldn't believe it! Get over yourself, Clay...just because she dressed up as you on Halloween (that's when his attitude started) doesn't give you the right to continually insult her and that's what he did during the entire "chat period". In my humble opinion, that 's why when he shoved his hand over her mouth, it was the last straw. I give her a lot of credit for putting up with his bs long before the hand incident. She acted like a true professional...he certainly didn't. I hope he is never asked back again to be a co-host, and if he is...I certainly won't subject myself to watch!

I completely dissagree. Since when should we walk on eggshells about waht we say to different types of people. We can say I don't know where your hands have been to someone that is straight and it wouldn't be a big deal, but say it to someone who people only think is gay and the world blows up. I think it is unfair. Everbody wants to be treated equally so i say stop bitchin and grow a sense of humor. Even if it was a sexual remark I wouldn't want someones hand on my mouth wether they were gay or straight.

I want to find out what happened too. I don't watch Regis & Kelly. I have never watched Regis & anybody. Clay is too mild mannered to be disrepectful of anyone.

She was disrespectful to him, saying what she said but alot of people think that way about gay people, she needs to think again before she says what she really thinks. but in all honesty people need to start thinking another way about gay people! no one likes to be judged.
