You can request a replacement Social Security Card, you need your birth Certificate, go to the nearest Social Security Office, they are listed in your phone book. Call first, because some smaller Offices are not open every day. You can get your second Id Card at the Department of Public Safety, Driver License Division. This will cost a one time fee, not very much. This will provide you with the two id's you need. Call the DPS first and find out what you need to bring for your ID Card and when they are open. You can do this. Just do it step by step and don't let anyone upset you, this can be done.

your guardian will have to go to the social security adminstration building and apply for a new social sec. card. in many cases you will get a print out that you reapplyed for a new one and you can use that paper as verification of the original. it will take 2-4 weeks before you get another in the mail. also, if you can look at someone elses card there should be a number on it you can call.

well if your grandmother has your original documents, why don't you ask her to let you use them to gain another copy of your SS card.
