I am veteran who served with a combat unit during Vietnam--for a year--and know more people who were killed in auto accidents than in Vietnam-who don't we spend the war money on reforming transportation and bring home our troops and really make the country and troops safer?

You make a very good point . Every holiday motivates people to change patterns of behavior and attempt the impossible for some .
Packing the family in the car and reaching a destination in a location not traveled to daily .
How can we stop stupid people from attempting to navigate roads they are un-familiar with and thus cause the death of themselves and others .

Well you are telling the truth. My cousin and several of my close friends are in Iraq right now. I hope they will be saver then most people on the roads in the US this Thanksgiving.
