Back pain is a sign of labor, so you'll want to call your doctor about this asap.
Also, if it is just from carrying the baby, you'll want to make sure you are keeping your back straight up and down when you pick things off the floor etc. Use your leg muscles and bend your knees not your back to get down low. When you sit, use a small pillow behind your back. And sleep on your side (not your back or front)--the baby's weight (and other pregnancy-related weight) could hurt your spine.

Lying on my side in as much of a fetal position as I can get and putting a thick or thin folded pillow between my knees and calves seems to instantly relieve some pressure. As well as pushing another pillow into the small of my back.
I'm not so sure about the walking as some of the others has suggested. It always makes my back hurt worse, because when I walk its arched more and I'm sure the waddling gait that I've developed doesn't help matters. The stretches like a cat hunching its back helps as well. Though I do it on my side as my belly weight is a little to uncomfortable if not supported.

Try some exercises. There's one where you get on all fours and arch your back (like you're a cat). Hold it for 10 seconds, then relax (but don't let your back arch the other way, just let it straighten out). Repeat this 10 times. It helps me, but I'm not as far along as you are.

Does Tylenol help? I'd also try a cold pack or heating pad on WARM, NOT HOT (don't keep heat on very long).

Some of those electric back massagers are nice too, but you'll probably need help from someone to reach your back. Good luck!

Try something like this: http://www.softforminfo.com/maternitybelt.asp

I used one during my pregnancies and it helped a great deal. Also try sleeping on your left side with a pillow between your knees and another to throw your right arm over. This lines your back up, gets the weight of the baby off your back and actually increases blood flow to the baby. Use a smaller pillow under your belly if you need to.

You might try Mineral Ice analgesic gel (available over the counter at pharmacy) to put on your back to relieve a bit of the pain... but ask your physician before using during pregnancy.

Best to you... I had seven children and scoliosis... so back pain was always an issue :(

this is common among the pregnents.. and ur concern u have already two children and this is 3rd one.. if u dint take proper rest when u give birth to childs then u will face this type of pains. any way i ll advise u take rest on flat table or flat cots without using the beds. and dont bend frequently, try to stop lifting the waits i hope it will solve ur problem for some extent all the best

try sitting in a slightly reclined chair with your feet propped up and a small pillow behind the bottom of your back, other than that its just one of those horrid pregnancy symptoms, you only have a few more weeks to go. i am sry for your pain and i hope you feel better, but once the baby comes out you already know it'll be worth it, good luck
