I think maybe you've written your equation wrong...
x^ <- there should be something after that... x to the power of what?

X^ is meaningless. You must have it followed by a number or an expression.

x^ -x -4 +8/x^-21/x^-4/x^

That's the best anyone can do until you supply a proper expression
