There are some chances you can recover them with some un-erase utilities, provided that you have deleted the files recently and nothing is written over the deleted space.

You can recover deleted data from your hard disk by using a file recovery tool like WinHex Forensic. http://www.winhex.com

But it is important that if you accidentally deleted a file in your hard drive, you have to STOP using it in the meantime that the file is not yet recovered.

The reason is simple. The space occupied by a permanently deleted file is still intact. Even when it was emptied from the recycle bin or deleted from the command console. But this space is prone to being overwritten by new information because it is no longer protected.

The best way to properly recover files is to stop using the computer and load a bootable CD with file recovery. You can check this site: http://www.winternals.com

Well, since you are probably a windoze user, those files that are 'deleted' are not, if you haven't written over them yet.

When you empty the Trashcan (stolen from Macintosh), the first letter of the filename is deleted.

Go google.com search for the retriever programs, of which there are about a million.

And, or, grab http://pclinuxos.com and run it live in the CDrom and use it's drive forensics to save 'deleted' files.

Then, you defrag in the windoze, and install dual boot menu and PCLinuxOS, (on 6 Gb to 20 GB.), so you can run upto 50X faster, have 20 environments, open up to 200 windows on each, (4,000 at the same time!!!), and run any of the FREE 5500 games, suites, programs, applications... Frostwire, music, movies...

yes, everything is still on your hard drive. It is basically etched in ther, and when you permaninly erase it, you dont get rid of it, but you basically give your computer permission to save over it. If it wasnt deleted long ago, you can still recover it, im just not sure how, i would have to ask my dad on that one, if u email me i can let u know later on how to. Hope this helps.

i discover it humorous that folk insist on quoting that stupid DoD cleansing and sanitization matrix. The DoD trouble-free only says that data could only be overwritten as quickly as with a single character. If there is assessed suggestion, the disk could be destroyed. only the latter is definitely preserve.
