so that the kids cannot be influenced by it [ pathetic] but booze adverts are the order of the day. Booze ads always show people enjoying themselves and displays no aggression whatsoever, that is misleading is it not.?

Definitely misleading especially considering more people cause havoc on a Saturday night through drink ! I don't think the NHS has many people overeating chocolate!

The government probably makes more money on duty paid on alcohol than it does on VAT gained from chocolate etc. Adults vote and children don't, so being the "nanny state" to children won't endanger them where patronising adults would. Also, most children eat chocolate but few start on the booze until they're old enough to stay up after 9 anyway. The government also wants to be seen to be doing something about childhood obesity in a way that will cost them nothing. They could start sports clubs that encourage inactive children who feel they are too slow or fat or uncoordinated to do sports, but that would be expensive!!

I agree with you that booze seems to be shown as fine, but its not, do they realise how many kids are drinking at younger ages these days, we have had kids come up to us outside the supermarket asking us to buy them booze and when you say no they get really nasty and aggressive with you, the government earns tax from advertising booze so they won't stop it and sod anyone who has a problem with it in their opinion, its disgusting, its also totally crazy, that they seem to think by not advertising food and chocolate adverts on TV the kids are going to forget it exists, they don't advertise Christmas on TV every single day of the year but kids know when it is, as soon as they go to the supermarket with their mom or dad their going to run for the sweet aisle or McDonald's as lots of the supermarkets have them in these days, the easiest and most simple way to stop kids having too many sweets and junk food it to simply say no to them, it isn't that hard is it.
