Kids don't know any better and they will think that those things that they see they can do. You just have to tell them that what they see is not real and help them to understand that. If there are things you don't want the children to watch, you just change the channel. That is what viewer discretion is.

Dr. Leonard D. Aaron examined children at age eight until they were thirty from the US, Australia, Finland, Israel and Poland.
It seemed that everywhere, the outcome was the same. The more frequently the participants watched violent programmes on television, the more likely they were of being convicted of crime by age thirty, and the more aggressive their behaviour when on alcohol.
Obviously, while not the only reason for aggression, television and movies are a contributing factor. That's why it's important that parents control their kids TV habits to ensure that there's more to their life than what's on the tube.

It all depends in which context the violence is in. Just random killing and shooting probably not for the best. But if its a situation that could be assoiciated with the real world , i cannot see a problem. At the end of the day violence is part of life, maybe not everyones, but for the unfortunate few it can be. And even though its on the screen maybe there are positive points to gain from it , such as, learning how and why violence takes place and how it can be avoided. And maybe that your actions could cause someone to be violent against you. But then again , its monday and maybe im just talking utter rubbish , u decide.

well because the people on those kool violent movies tend to use bad language or they can walk on the walls and stuff so if one of the guys from the movies fights some dude thats making him mad and ur kid thinks thats kool then he might end up getting into a fight with some random kid in skool and that is why it is bad for them plus they could get scared and then u better get use to not sleeping alone or sleeping at all

It depends on how violent it is. Tom and Jerry is also violent. But somehow that would really not get into kids's mind because they are using cartoon animal as symbols

Bad enough to not let them watch them. Kids get ideas from moviees. Even if they have the best common sense in the world, if it can be avoided then screen what they watch.
I would also think that it depends on what age they are so they cant be ''scarred'' by what they see.

Very. Children don't have the emotional maturity to deal with these sorts of film, and either it will scare the hell out of them, or it'll make them think violence is cool. Children spend their entire childhood mimicking what they see - that's how they learn. To let them see inappropriate material is at best, insanely stupid, and at worst, downright dangerous. There are valid reasons for the classification system.

Research shows that exposure to violence, such as movies, leads to that behavior. Think of it this way, you may never know of something, like a chain saw murder, but once you have seen it, that image remains in your mind, usually forever. After enough times, we can become desensitized, and maybe even want to imitate what we see.
