Okay...a Q for the ladies...
what do you prefer a guy to wear...
1)casual clothes like surf/casual clothes
or
2)smart clothes like collar shirts and designer shoes(not vans or island style)and scarfs and so on...
this is for like going out...eg:clubs bars

If I had to pick, then I would say 2. It's better to be a bit overdressed than under dressed. Surf/Casual type clothing won't make a good impression on most women.
The best look is a a blending of what he normally wears, and a piece or two to dress up his normal look. He shouldn't be uncomfortable in the clothing he wears just to look good. Many times wearing things you aren't used to makes your movements stiff and awkward, and you come across as insecure or clumsy. You don't need designer clothes to look good, and you don't need to throw on scarves and formal shoes to go to a club or bar. I'm not a big fan of scarves on men just for fashion, it tends to make him look snobby.
Start with the basics: flat front pants, casual shoes (not sporty like Vans, but plain old matte leather, like an oxford) and a matching belt, and a good button up shirt. It doesn't have to be expensive, just good fabrics, like cotton or wool blends, corduroy, linen (if it's hot out), knit, twill, etc.... NO 100% POLYESTER! It looks cheap. You'll have a great classic look that will take you anywhere you want to go, clubs, bars, out to dinner, on a date, etc... Throw on a great jacket when it gets colder, and you'll add a polished, sophisticated edge to your look.

But you can wear it only special occasions
Do: Clubs/Bars
Do: With your Gf at a nice restarts
Do: To the Mall
I rather see my man in jeans and t-shirt when where just out-&-about!

it depends on the club...
but I think men look better in a shirt (though not necessarily with a tie). Us girls usually put a bit of effort in to what we wear to go out, so we want the guy with us to do the same.
