here's a book that can tell you how to prepare for pregnancy and the few months before... to get your body ready for the experience. You can start by taking the prenatal vitamins (over the counter ones are just fine). And eat healthy foods, cut down on the amount of caffeine you eat... but even when you're pregnant, the Dr's tell you that you can have a cup of coffee or even a soda. So don't worry too much about stopping cold turkey!
Here's that book:
Before Your Pregnancy: A 90-Day Guide for Couples on How to Prepare for a Healthy Conception
by Amy Ogle, Lisa Mazzullo, Lisa Mazzullo
Good luck! and have fun trying! :)

First of all, that "wait 3 months" line is wrong. My doctor told me that the only reason doctors tell their patients that is to get a better idea of a conception date. The pill leaves your system in 24 hours. I went off the pill in September and started trying right away....still not pregnant yet but have had no problems. As far as the coffee goes, I HEAR YA! i love my coffee, but Ive switched to decaf and still only have 1 a day or 1 every other day. The best of luck to you and lots of baby dust :)

Either have decaff or just have one cup a day.
Too much coffee isn't good for you anyway.
I never understood the coffee obsession many people have though, I think it tastes horrid. Water is much better! :)
They suggest waiting to try at least three months after taking the pill, to make sure it gets out of your system. But honestly, think of how many women get pregnant while on the pill and have healthy babies.

My doctor said that right after you stop taking BC is when you're most fertile. Heck it worked for me. Quit BC, got pregnant the very next month.
As for the caffeine thing, I was told that 1 soda a day is fine. I don't know how much caffeine is in soda, but I'm sure it's about equal to 1 cup of coffee.
Heck, my doctor was german and said that even one beer a week was fine (which I DIDN'T do)

Wait three months after stopping the pill, the doctor will say, but at the least wait two. You can have caffeine while trying to conceive, but cut back to two cups a day once you're pregnant. Good luck.

i was told that a little bit of caffine a day wont hurt the baby, you just have to be reasonable, and not over do it. i drink 1 cup of coffee every morning, and my baby is due in 5 weeks and all my doc ever tells me is how big our son is going to be. so i think its okay. as far as the pill goes i think it just all depends on what kind of bc pill it is, some stay in your system longer than others. hope i helped. good luck on trying for your baby, it will bring u more happiness than u ever could of immagined.

My ob always said one cup of coffee or one soda a day. I am not sure I think I would stop taking it now. It may take a couple of months to get you back on track.

umm at least have decaff. but i would start trying soon after you get off the pill because depending on how long you have been on it it could take a while before you become pregnant.
