This is an old, old nursery rhyme, it has nothing to do with modern living!

Jack would not eat fatty meat
His wife only liked fatty meat
thus between the two of them they ate it all.
It could be a metaphor for making sure that your life partner complimented you in such a way as to see that it all gets done.
