Isn't it a waste of time and energy? What are the negative consequences of wearing wrinkled clothes? I will stop doing it if the rest of you do.

lol... uh... "WE" don't iron clothes. At least this part of the "we" doesn't :)

I don't buy clothes that I can't wash and dry and just pull out quickly and hang without them needing to be ironed. It's a personal choice because I don't have time for ironing.

My husband, on the other hand... he irons polo shirts because he stuff them in a drawer instead of hanging them up.

I've discovered that if I iron my khakis, then drive to my meeting, by the time I get there, they're wrinkled across the thigh and the back of the knee just as they were before I ironed them. So I just don't bother any more. Ditto with dress shirts.

Buy permanent press. Wash it. Dry it on medium heat. Don't overcrowd the dryer. Pull it out quickly, while the thing is still tumbling. Hang it immediately. Wear it proudly and claim 20 extra minutes for the day :)

We iron clothes so that we look more presentable. What if you went into a doctor's office and everyone there had on wrinkled clothing would you feel comfortable enough as a patient to let them see you. It is not a waste of time. Iron your clothes while you are watching your favorite TV show, or when you are bored out of your mind, iron for the week. People just look at you differently, just go back to the doctor situation

I only iron the fronts of everything...have for 10 years and no one has ever noticed. By the time I get somewhere the back and bottom is all wrinkled anyways. This saves me 1/2 the ironing time.
Oh, the wet and redry method is a waste of time...everyone can still tell you didn't bother ironing. My friend's wife does this and he looks awful in dress clothes. I pity him. She is always dressed to the hilt and he looks homeless.

A waste of time unless, absolutely necessary.
I go way back to the era before dryers, where we had to hang all the clothing outside on the line, and the clothes were so stiff when we gathered them up, that we would bring them in the house and sprinkle them, before we ironed them, so that they were easier to iron, and we ironed everything, socks, sheets etc.
With today's clothing material if you get them right out of the dryer when they are finished drying, you stand a better chance of no wrinkles, but yes it is a waste of time and energy to iron, unless they are made of cotton and just have to be ironed.

It just looks better. I mean, there are some things I'll just throw in the dryer to get the wrinkles out and they look fine. But pants and shirts that are meant to be pressed look awful, in my opinion, when they are not ironed. Think dress shirts, khaki pants, etc.

O I don't know maybe it make you look like you haven't slept in your clothes all night. that you are an alert person and you respect yourself enough to look like you are a person that is who is ready for anything. And why would you care what other people look like (losers) you should want to look like the winner.

I never iron. With today's clothes, there are hardly any that need it, especially if you hang them up right away.
