Yeah, although I personally prefer straw bedding over shredded paper. However with shredded paper you don't have to worry as much about mites.

If you use shredded newspaper, you may want to check that the newspaper uses soy based ink. Soy based ink is not harmful to your rabbit. Most newspapers now use soybased ink. It will sometimes say if it does at the top or bottom of the paper. If not, you can call your newspaper to find out.

I use it. It works grate. Here is a tip I get free papers. Community news, employment papers. I take out all the Staples if there are any. I line my cage with a thick layer. I put hay in the litter tray to. I change the litter every week some times twice a week. And I change the paper in the bottom of the cage twice a week if needed. I wash my cage once a week.

Shredded paper is fine, but you could also add shredded toilet paper too, or fluffy bedding that can be bought from any pet store. The ink isn't great, so stick to paper without. Little ink won't harm them, but a lot can damage their little bodies. Good luck!!!

Remember that newspaper is made with chemicals with ink. This is what your rabbit will be exposed to if you have it in contact with your rabbit.
Ever read a paper or do anything with a newspaper? Ever look at your hand afterwords. That black stuff on your fingers is ink and chemicals....
BTW I read up there and realize how much people do not know how dangerous these chemicals are for pets. Oh well who wants critters living a full healthy life anyways......:0(

I wondered the same thing, then when i saw it at the pet store i wasnt sure if it was ok cos they did it or not ok cos they were doing it for costs. But i now do it for my bunnies and my sister and her hubby do it for their mice and rats.
It seems to work fine and if you have one of those personal shredders its great, saves you that bit of cash!
Only issue i found was it smelt a bit more cos its not as absorbent and that cos they can eat the straw they think they can eat the paper. Just give em a bit more food till they work it out. Oh and make sure theres no staples or anything like that.
Good luck

Yes you can but shredded paper tends to smell alot more than the straw because the rabbits urine doesn't absorb as well into the paper.

I use shredded paper, hay and saw dust for my rabbit! She loves it all I put saw dust in corner then mix hay with the paper in her bed and play area, then she organises it all out!! Love her! She plays with toilet tubes/kitchen roll ones & I go to carpet shops to get the big ones some charge others give them for free :)

No problem using shredded paper but don't forget to make sure they have enough feed as they shouldn't eat the paper.

You can but hay is better, mainly because most rabbits like to spend time in their litter box chewing the contents. Seriously, all mine have quite lavish condo's with runs and they still spend a lot of time lounging in their litter trays.
