i'm writing an essay for a contest and i would like to write about all the problems we have in our society today, and how people truly feel seeing as we are supposed to be "united"...and i don't feel that we always live up to our name...so i would appreciate your input! thanks everyone! = ]

The biggest problem facing our world is liberal politics, which is the basis of socialism/communism, France is representative of this insanity. The next is the ignorance of history, the hatred of truth, the rejection of morality and the destruction of the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman.

Terrorism, together with the problem of trying to formulate an effective American response to it are the greatest challenges we face.
We need to act--consider how the world would look if organizations such as the Taliban ran it!--but we need to act in a way that works. Thus far, we've managed to alienate our allies around the world, create acrimonious divisions at home, and still not do much to curb the growth of extremist groups, especially in the Mideast.

too many people, especially in 3rd world countries.
too much difference in the standard of living between the rich and the poor countries.
Muslim extremism.

Pick one topic, world related, that you feel strongly needs to be adressed and "lace" unity into it. Attacking it from the angle you describe would take pages that would make up a full volume of encyclopedias. Good luck!
