I'm from Canada and this will be my first American Thanksgiving celebration ever ( I'm so excited about it, Sweetie's Momma is making sweet potato pie and and candied yams and collared greens and everything!!! )! Up north we drink a bit of beer for our Thanksgiving but never more than a keg or two each, after all we have to be socially responsible; we still have to drive our dog sleds homes after the party! I don't want to offend anyone so is it cool to drink from the keg at dinner or should I just fill up a couple of tankards and cool it till after supper is done? Thanks in advance for the help and I hope all of You Americanos have a great Thanksgiving Too!!!

Unless you have guests in your home at 7:00 when you get off work it is your private time and the "socially acceptable" aspect doesnt apply. Either way, you should drink a beer when YOU want to, not when you feel others would find it acceptable. Live life on your own terms as much as possible, you will be much happier.

It would be perfectly acceptable to drink straight from the nozzle of a keg. AAMOF, it is considered a sign of good breeding and the host or hostess will be even doubly complimented by a loud belch after you drink!

You can drink the beer at the table, but to show good manners, leave the keg off in another room.

I'd save the beer drinking for after dinner while watching the football game. :) Happy ThanksGiving!

Oh...of course it's fine...if they love you! Maybe you'll be responsible for starting a new tradition in Sweeties' family! You'll probably even get Grandma lipping the Keg...Go Grandma Go!
