2KOH + Cl2 ----> KCl + KClO + H2O
6KOH + 3Cl2 ----> 5KCl + KClO3 + 3H2O

Easier to buy them. KCl you can get at the grocer under the brand "New Salt"

KClO3 you can get from a chemical supply like Flinn.

i think u can just add K metals, with Cl2 gas, they should react automatically under redox reaction.....i don't suggest you do taht though, it might be a bit explosive :P
