You should transfer them through LAN, wired or wireless, what your notebook supports. The best way to keep the backup copies will be the external hard drive, as it has more life than anything else

I would think if you have quite a bit of files the external hard drive might be your best option. Also if the hard drive from your old computer isn't dead, you can actually buy a case and use that one as an external. There are some great deals on cables that let you transfer from one to another also. This is a drag and drop process really quite easy. These are available at worldstart.com. I love this site. I get great computer tips and also some great hardware deals! good luck.

The easiest way to transfer data is through infrared or bluetooth and let the data get transferred overnight.
Anything other than is will be more cumbersome but definately faster like - Burn you data in a CD or CD RW or DVD if supported by teh old laptop and copy it to the new one.

The best way to use Windows Networking for this purpose. Connect both the PC's and just copy all the data from one to another.
Or you can use external USB Harddrive case fitted with your new Laptop's Harddrive, just connect copy, remove and use with new laptop.

you're transforming into deploy the courses from their installation disks/data. you may't (often) only reproduction them over from one gadget to a distinctive. There are some courses available that declare to be waiting to go your application from one gadget to a distinctive. Laplink is one such that has a stable attractiveness. As on your documents data, you may usb or, if the old computing device helps the, rewriteable DVD. in case you may connect the two machines to a community, this is even much less confusing. The final option is to eliminate the force from the old one and connect it to the hot one with a USB adapter - the two an entire up enclosure or a gadget that only provides the ability and connection to a bare force.
