Being pregnant can be a strain. worrying about your appearance. Personally I think that you ladies bloom when you are expecting but I can see your point. There are so many things that can harm an unborn child, cigarette smoking, drinking alcohol and eating too spicy food amongst them. However I believe that as long as you use heated tongs top straighten your hair you should be alright. I would avoid anything containing chemicals since, although they will be washed away it is possible that some may permeate your skin and thus enter your bloodstream. To be on the safe side consult your doctor making sure you take the preparation with you so that he/she can see what ingredients there are there.

Hormones can change the texture of your hair.. the way it responds to relaxers. colors and so on.
It does not touch soak in the pores, is not toxic to breathe in, so no I would say it is not bad. However with the increased hormones, prenatal vitamins your taking in it may turn out a bit differently than expected. There are mixed reviews on whether it is dangerous, I know many pregnant stylists who never had an issue with doing or receiving treatments during their pregnancies so I would not worry.

my mom use to do hair and she said that when u use chemical treatments most likely it wouldnt do the same job as not being pregnant something about the hormones being pregnant or if your on your period. Having your hair pressed or hot comb shouldnt have no effects i think nothing is being used but the comb. Maybe u need to talk to your Dr for more info.

While pregnant women aren't even supposed to have dental work done. You don't want to be exposed to the chemicals. It's suggested to wait till well after the birth before having something like that done.

The hair texture changes, so usually the chemicals won't take or behave the same as usual.
Also, as someone else said, the less chemicals, the better for baby.

Yes it is very bad. If you don't use chemicals then you're fine but radiation, heat, and chemcals are the three causes of mutation. If you want your baby to look normal just use a flat iron.

Personally I colored my hair once and relaxed it 5 or 6 times. My daughter is healthy. Your pedi should tell you that there aren't any studies that prove or disprove this theory.
