I keep seeing questions on here with girls worrying about how they look like

Am I ugly?

Is my bum too big?

My chest isnt big enough?

Watch this short vid (1min17 secs) to see how our perception of beauty is being twisted.

Just wanted to say that video tells me nothing i don't already know. BUT, It's a really sweet thing to do as there are so many women and girls out there who think what they see in magazines is the real thing. Watching that video made me feel better about myself and I'm sure there are plenty others that can agree with me. Thanks hun!
p.s, maybe guys should take a look at the video as well?!

Thank you.
It was bad enough when I was young but now the way that women are encouraged to see themselves as never attractive enough is terrifying.
How other people see you depends a lot on how you see yourself. I'm short fat and middle aged but other people forget that because I do. What i look like is far less important than who I am and what i do.

Yeah, I agree with you. This self-esteem campaign is on Oprah too. She says if skinny, fair n' spotless is what we mean by 'beautiful', it's time to change!
I heard people opposing writer J.K. Rowling's statement that the notion 'being super thin means being beautiful' is wrong.
It would be a slap in the face for these very people, if they check out today's Yahoo Videos. I was shocked to see how a model starved herself to death!

That is insane...I do not read magazines and I rarely watch T.V, when I do I find myself counting all of the commercials or ads and realizing that 99% of them are targeted towards women and their appearance. It is disgusting to say the least, I feel very uneasy knowing that teenage girls are striving for this computer generated look.

I am 15 years old and because of the way everyone is nowadays I look at myself as being not as good as everyone else. Even though I do get compliments. But I just look at myself in the mirror and just compare myself to everyone else. I know it is bad but I just can't help it.

that's mad - they created a new woman!!

It's good that people get to see that tho... you look at magazines and compare yourself to all these beautiful girls but maybe they actually aren't that amazing in real life afterall... the girl in that video looks like a different person... i wonder if she even recognised herself on the billboard!!!

that is a great film and it is so true..i hate the fact that there are these celebrities out there and they look amazing due to make up and digital enchancement and that is not who they really are!!
women become insecure and feel they have to change to fit in to society...real beauty comes from within!!BE YOURSELF!!
