A contradiction in terms has been pointed out. Lets say promoting, pursuing and committing to peace, rather than fighting for peace.

Just like some of those same UN nations that got caught with their fingers in the " Oil for Food " scam, its embarrassing to say the least.

When you talk about peace, as long as their are people who try to force their will on others, there will never be peace. When Islam wants to control the world, by killing the Jews and infidels, you cant have peace.

Look at the number of treaties Israel has signed with the PLO and they have no peace, cause the PLO wont back down from their goal of wiping out Israel.

If you look at Iran, they have the same goal, to include America. So, my question to you is are you willing to sacrifice your rights and freedoms to make another failed attempt at world peace???

Until humanity gets together, and responds to aggression and these two bit dictators in one voice, instead of like the UN, cant decide on anything, and have to clout to back up any resolution they impose, look at Iraq, we will have conflict.

Your point is well taken but your facts are off a little. N. Ireland is part of the UK. Germany is also one of the largest exporters and is not a permanent member. Pakistan is a major exporter as is Czechoslovakia. Many of the oil rich exporters are the leading brokers. Israel is a leader provided you support them. I would say it is more of a business collusion and peace is not its agenda unless it cost profits.

The Un Security council was created exclusivly for the 5 biggest nations after WW2, so they could continue to control power.

The council is a remnant of the past. Perhaps changes are needed.

True or false when fighting for peace you are still fighting in one way or another. Violence is a part of the human psyche but the freedoms we are proud of were created by exactly what? I like and understand your ideals but am unsure if they are sustainable.
