Very rarely. Usually I don't measure up to my own expectations. But once in a while I exceed them...

Some examples:

I bought a house by myself in a new community. Scary! But I survived and I love my house! I still can't believe it's mine. I never would have imagined I could do it.

I paint but it wasn't until this year that I had my first art show & sold a painting! Didn't expect to sell anything.

I learned to play guitar & have written 200 songs in the past few years, some of which actually don't suck! Tee hee. I sing at a local bar & ended up on the front page of the local paper a couple of weeks ago (I totally wasn't expecting that! A big photo front & center! I'm a minor celebrity! That was one of the happiest days of my life!)

I met the man of my dreams. Wasn't even looking for him & he found me. Better than I could have imagined.

I took the first step toward my dreams & my dreams have started to come true. Still a long way to go, but it's a good start....

Years ago, after my older and very "dramatic" sister had already had 3 children, she proceeded to tell me how horribly painful it was to go through childbirth. I was due to have my child within a month, so her stories had put a really big fear in me. According to my sister, I would feel so much pain, I would want to die!
Her labor with each of her children was anywhere from 12 hours to 35 hours, and of course the nurse in charge was terrible to her.
She also had to stay in the Hospital for 3 or 4 days because of this experience. So the day arrived, my back hurt a little bit, and I decided to take a walk, thinking it might feel better. Well, I walked about 4 miles then came home. It still hurt a little, so I took a warm bath to relax. After I got out and got dressed, I felt kind of
odd, and then my water broke, so I called my husband to take me to the hospital. My sister had insisted that when the time came, I call "her." I didn't want to have to deal with her "drama," so I didn't call her. I went to the hospital, had my daughter 20 minutes later, and went home the next day! "THEN" I called my sister, and she could hear my baby girl crying in the back ground.
I told her from beginning to end, my entire experience, and that it was nothing like the dramatic stories she had told me, so she hung up on me and didn't talk to me for about 3 months. My experience with childbirth was beautiful! I figure my sister must have had a different Drama teacher than I did. hahaha!

When I was younger I was overweight, friends were few, so I dedicated my life to playing music, the drums to be specific. I'm not bragging, but I became a much sought after drummer.
