Are you going into an engagement only for an expensive ring , which is material for viewing only, if you set your sights on someone, it is not the price of the ring it is the building of a life together, money worries, childrens education all aspects of a married life together, who cares aboput a ring from Argos or anywhere else, and who is to know where it came from, some look like a million dollars and are from Woolworths so unless you show it to someone who walks around with a eyeglass they will not know, if you stamp on anything you want to stamp on such notions that you have.

That's a horrible thing to say. Its not about the ring, its about the person and the meaning being the ring. I would have been just as happy with my engagement ring if it had been a dollar store fake plastic ring. But my husband got me a beautiful ring, however, I did get to pick it out. If you have that attitude towards the engagement ring, I can only imagine how you feel about marriage. If its what I think it is, you will never be happy.

Its not about the price its about the fact he has bilt up his courage to ask someone hw genuinly cares about even if it is with a elizabeth duke ring. Obviously you will never be asked to marry someone as you are shallow and image obsessed. Have a **** life x

When i got engaged, we could not even afford an argos ring!!!
It was from ratners when all the media attention broke about him saying that his jewellery was junk!
It was about showing how committed we were to each other, and I'm glad to say we have been happily married for 12 years now, and both in professional jobs now, so if i really wanted to, i could get a "rock" for my finger, its not about the material things, its about how much you love each other.

Its not about the ring or where it came from, its the feelings that go with it and the love that the ring comes with. At least he went out and brought the ring and put some thought into it, unlike my ex husband who made me buy my own wedding ring!!!!

Bit shallow!
The diamonds in Argos are Diamonds whatever the box!
Some are over £1000.
Hope no one ever proposes to you!
