will it crawl back out or will it go down to the sewer? (I'm not actually doing anything with rats, but I'm having a heated debate with my brother)

I think he'll plug up your toilet.

If the rat is able to get flushed, the toilet is usually attached to a vertical pipe before connecting to the "horizontal" pipe to the city sewer line.

Most likely he'll head down towards the sewer.

Hi Flush the rat down the toilet , you were just sending the rat home, the thing to do is to keep the toilet lid down and always flush the toilet before lifting the lid to poo, if you have a CD player you can always play a Barry Manalow CD on a low volume, place the player on the landing area on the first level about 18" above the floor(on a stool) , this is a well tried method by students in the UK it doe's work, it must be Barry Manalow CD, 2nd choice would be Tiny Tim if you can get his old CD. cheers Bob a job

your poor rat will drown and not make it in time to the sewer because it's a long, long pipe down. And your rat can't crawl back up because of the gravitational pull of the water in the pipe.

The rat will probably make it to the sewer system alive. Then he will eat toxic waste, grow to 200 pounds and come back and eat you for for flushing him.

The rat will probably die from drowning, and, end up in the sewer.

It will probably clog up the toilet! Rats are pretty good sized creatures!

You'll never flush a 'live' rat down a toilet unless you render it unconscious first. They aren't stupid you know.
