Sugar content in wines can be a cause of headaches. Sulfates, allergies etc. White wines usually have a higher sugar content then reds.

Some wines contain sulfites (a preservative). They can cause an allergic reaction in some people. Check the label.

It must be some sort of allergy to an ingredient or additive. I haven't been able to nail it. It happens with some wines, red or white, but not others.
