How about all of these rating systems for hotels? Are some better than others?

I always check the ratings on a hotel, but they are not always accurate. I like to go the website of a place that I am going to stay and read the comment of people that have stayed there. They differ also, but I think you get a better perspective this way.

would you believe that nowadays there's more than one hotel, so some are better then others? crazy huh
