Why would we vote for rich people who can not relate to what its like just being normal, working from check to check? I get the sense that these politicians don't care about us. i feel like were being fooled. When I get that feeling I am usually right. Do you think a guy like Bush cares about us with all his heart? like a leader should, a guy like Abe Lincoln, i did'nt know him, but it seems like that guy actually might have cared

People need to vote in every election. That way you can get people in that aren't controlled by the party. If you vote along party lines that's all you get. If only 40% of people vote, that means that 60% of the people don't even care who gets elected. How can you have a government that cares about the people if they know they won't vote anyway? The rich corporations will pay them millions to push through their agendas.

The problem is that not enough 'common people' run for offices at the national (even state) level because those people are to busy just making ends meet to be a candidate. And even if they were a candidate they could not afford the campaign that is necessary to get elected. So, the parties offer us Frick and Frack as our two 'choices' and we, the people, elect yet another stooge of the system who perpetuates the status quo.

Do you think that the Democrats actually care about the people living check to check? All they care about is the people living off of the government checks. You're going to be double screwed when the Democrats raise your taxes so they can give more to the lazy and uneducated.

And I'm trying to start conflict? Look at your question. It is all about power and political gain! It is all about money and who has the higher almighty dollor to get the word out for the bigger voice when it comes to the voting race.
Power is the enemy!

Support clean elections. See Arizona where a single mom who was a waitress was elected into office.

Common people who run have skeletons in their closets, which are used against them because they have no political clout. If we expect our politicians to do as they promise, then we are naive because a newly elected congressman is called a Junior, which means their nobody until they get re-elected. Which also means that they have to go with the flow rather than stand up for whats right. Its even worse with a newly elected President.

Yes, Bush cares for the common people, that's why he cut our taxes, for the good of our families. A great economy is just an added bonus of tax cuts.
You elites make fun of Bush because he talks like a common person, he doesn't care...... because he considers himself just a common person.
