I have a water poppy in a pond which has died back to nothing, I have removed it from the pond, and put it in a sepparate container with some liquid fertilizer. Will it recover?

I think yes it will recover but you have to take good care of it..☺

I have never heard of a water poppy?
Is it perhaps a water hyacinth? If so, it is an annual in most areas and - no, it will not come back.
However, if what you are talkking about is a Water Lily, then yes, as long as it does not freeze it will come back next spring.
