Hi, the IFPI is the only organisation in the world that tracks down worlwide album sales and lists X and Y by coldplay as the biggest selling album in the world during 2005.

Unfortunatley single sales though tracked are not listed however in the United states Mariah carey had the biggest selling single while in most of the world beside the US it seems to be Madonna.
