I have to agree in some cases with Sam, because I drive a moped myself and find that it is most women that are annoying when it comes to the roads. Also, it is known that men have a more spacially aware brain, which would make them better at parking. BUT seeing as Sam is my brother I have to completely disagree by saying that I know plenty of male drivers that are rubbish at parking. Also, even though you are female you can have a more male orientated brain, making you more spacially aware. So there.

I'm a lady driver and I park reasonably well. I think you should try to point out to Sam the fact that there are many good and responsible lady drivers before it is too late for him to break from this pattern of thinking.

i used to be a driving instructor, women aren't any better or worse at parking. it's more a question of practice. for example since i stopped doing driving instructing and i drive to work and have a parking space, i've noticed my parallel parking skills have deteriorated with lack of practice. i've heard people say that women have a problem due to different spacial awareness from men. i have to say i've never seen this and i've seen as many bad women parkers as men. one thing i would say is women seem to be more reluctant to try to fit a car into a very small space, where some men seem to take it as a badge of honour to get into a space that is very tight.

Because women have a very bad sense of spacial awareness. I am a woman and have never mastered the art of parallel parking.

to be fare we are all pretty bad Parker's and i guess that you would stop and watch a woman make a *** of her parking but not a bloke . tip for parking reverse in its easier to get out . the real question is why is it on my travels young mothers are the worst offenders for driving whilst holding a mobile phone

A Female friend of mine once told me that. "The reason women are so bad at parking is, When a man tells her that "THIS" is 8 inches, her whole sense of length and perspective is destroyed!

i have always considered my parking good....talk to your son about this because it's obvious someone has been talking to him about how bad women are at doing things....at that age he should not have that attitude....seriously...he may be listening to older male adults in the family...you don't want him growing to believe that women are not good at anything do you...nip it in the bud before he starts believing this stuff

Thats shocking, i think you should sit down and talk to your son and tell him that men are no better than women and vice versa, its important for him at that age to nderstand that everyone is equal (not that you need to take this advice of a complete stranger)

It sounds to me as though he is just repeating what he has heard from someone else ... I think you should talk to him about it, and point out to him that men and women are equally good at most things. See how he would feel if someone asked him why boys are no good at reading/writing/swimming anything! So that he will understand how that makes people feel.
