saurav ganguly for his aggressiveness, rahul for his equanimity, ricky for his temprement, i think we need a guy with all these qualities to be the best captain.

Inzamam-ul-haq is a great leader for Pakistan, at the moment. He took over when there were serious problems within the team, yet has brought the aquad together, and they now play as a team.
Mike Brearley was probably the best ever. When England won the Ashes from an all-but-dead position, with Ian Botham as captain, he stepped in and managed the players perfectly. The Aussies were a magnificent team, and to beat them whilst coming from behind was a great achievement, especially as Mike was a poor international player, so he really had only 10 international players to get the result with. He WAS a very competent county player.
If ever discussing this with Aussies, I find it useful to mention Douglas Jardine, who was an arrogant, tw*t, with a contempt for crickets true beauty and felt winning was all that mattered. He captained England in the infamous 'bodyline' series, and just the sound of his name sends Australians into a frenzy of foul language. It's a good way to learn new Australian terms and phrases.

Of all time Don Bradman. To me one of the strongest indicators of a good captain is his ability to improve when he becomes captain. Also he was pretty good diplomatically especially after the Bodyline series against England.
These days though I would say Ricky Ponting. He has only lost 1 series since he took over from Steve Waugh in test arena, and in the one day game his performance in the World cup Final will be clear in the memory of anybody who saw it and they just won the Champions Trophy. Pity about his manners

Charlotte is a robust Captain. i presumed it became astounding, the way she dealt with her team as nicely as led the team. I do think of she merits all acclaim. Have watched the Semis as nicely because of the fact the Finals WC TT as we talk. additionally watched the ODI fits some months in the past. It became exciting to notice that the girls human beings's communities in Semis TT have been from those international locations that have been out of the fits in men's TT WC. alongside with England. So i did now not comprehend the finger pointing to Dhoni - he has been a Captain purely because of the fact 2007 T20 WC. now not even 2 years. He has now not confronted a ODI WC yet. we additionally will analyze her with KP or Andrew Strauss or any.

My choice of the all-time best captain would be based on this ability - to take a team that isn't doing well and turn it into a world-beating team.
Two names come to my mind: Allan Border and Arjuna Ranatunga. I know many don't like the second choice on the list. That's precisely why he is named here. He took up a fairly inexperienced team and went on to win the world cup, snubbing every racist on the way.

Steve Waugh of Australia was the best cricket captain ever as he has the best success rate among all other captains. Besides, he can be considered as an allrounder too due to his bowling abilities..
