1.10

that's the nearest ten ...look..

1.11 take away 1...would be 1.10...and that's the nearest 10 and if it was 1.45 the nearest ten would be 1.50..because when you come to a 5 you always round up not down.

1.63 would be 1.60 because 1.60 is nearest to 63 than 70 would be.

2.67 would be ..2.70 because it's nearest to 70.

Hope that's clear enough?

When you are supposed to round to nearest 10, whole number, or anything, all you have to do is think of two possible numbers.
For rounding to nearest 10, its 0 or 10 for this case.
Ask yourself then which is nearer to your number.
Ans: 0

If you are asked to round to nearest whole number, the numbers you should consider for 1.11 is 1 or 2.
Again, the answer should be 1.

Hope this helps=)

Rounding to the nearest ten means that if say, it's 1.11 then since the second number after the dot is under 5, then the first number after the dot remains the same. If it's say, 1.17, since the 7 is above 5 it becomes 1.2. Get it?

1.11 doesn't have any tens in it. So the answer to the nearest ten is 0.
Whichever degree you are rounding to, be it ten, hundred, millionth, tenth, look at the next digit down.
For nearest ten, look at units column.
If the next column down is four or below, discard its value, but do not put a zero in, just ignore it.
If it is five or above, add one to the column you are observing.
Lower columns don't count, just the ONE below the column you are rounding to.
So 15.56 becomes 20, to the nearest ten, because there is a five in the units column,
and 114.996 becomes 10 to the nearest ten, because there is a four in the units column.

When rounding to the nearest ten, your answer will always be 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50...... as you take the number, and see which multiple of ten it is closest to. For example, 47 rounds to 50, as 50 is the closest "ten" to it. 1.11 goes to 0. If it's half way (e.g. 25), then round UP (so 25 goes to 30).

If you meant rounding to the nearest tenth, then that's the same, but your answers will be 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, .... 8.7, 8.8, 8.9, 9.0, 9.1, ....... So 1.11 would go to 1.1, and 3.57 would go to 3.6.

Hope that helped.

ok. to round of a number to a nearest tenth means to leave just on number after the decimal point. In this example, 1.13. 13 is between 10 and 20 and it's the nearest to 10 (since it's lesss than five), so the decimal is going to be 1.1.

If you have 1.35. 35 is between 30 and 40, but it's the nearest to 40, so the decimal is going to be 1.4.

any digit can be rounded up or down. 1-4 are rounded down and 5-9 are rounded up.
Therefore 1.372469 becomes
at the first round up - 1.37247
then - 1.3725
then - 1.373
then - 1.37
hope this clears it up for you
