Chicago is the best city in the world and anyone who says it isn't is probably some University of Michigan or University of Indiana or University of Wisconsin, etc. grad who just moved here a few years ago after getting out of college. For people who have lived here all their lives, they know how great it is. Beaches and warm weather in the summer, snow in the winter, clean streets (when compared to other big cities) decent public transportation (OK, it sucks sometimes, but for the most part it gets you where you have to go, from one end of the city to the other), great architecture (Chicago is the birthplace of the skyscraper.. FACT!), world class museums (Monet, Manets, Van Goghs, Picassos are all here), great restaurants, the home of some of the best theater in the world (so many top actors started here), the home of Second City which has pretty much defined what comedy is (there would be no SNL or SCTV without the Second City theater, whose graduates have influenced others who have influenced other, etc.). You can talk about LA or NYC, but the big names there only move there AFTER they start somewhere else. Chicago is where they START, where they learn their craft to begin with. A major sports team in every major sport (OK, sometimes they suck, but unlike cities with only ONE baseball team, we get to see the best in both leagues come through town). Moneywise, this is the most affordable big city around> Try getting a decent apartment in LA or NYC for $700... LOL!!! I've been to NYC, London, etc., etc. and coming back on the plane and seeing that downtown skyline is the greatest feeling in the world

I wouldn't give this city up for the world! I have lived here for all my life, though I have visited other cities.

NY - Sucks it is dirty and disgusting. The people there are rude and everything is very expensive.

LA Hot and you have to drive to get to anything.

Houston - Don't even get me started on TX. Ugh!

Denver - Pretty, but there isn't much of anything to do. And cold as hell!

Salt Lake City - Again its pretty, but you can only climb a mountain so many times before it gets boring.

Orlando - Sure there is Disney, but after that... Nothing.

Chicago takes the cake! From shopping to dining to night clubs, its the place for me. The museums... The architecture... The people... Seeing that sky-line makes my heart jump every time! To me it is the most beautiful thing in the world.

I love Chicago! I feel the same way you do! It is a beautiful place with awesome people. The architecture is amazing, the shopping phenomenal, the food is to die for and the diversity makes it so much fun! I love to go on the side streets and hidden away sections and explore the real heart of the city. Bravo Mayor Daly!

I favor San Francisco, long island and Boston. i might want to assert Chicago and Philadelphia are a tie for me at #4. I nonetheless have not travelled a lot, although. i'm nonetheless searching ahead to vacationing London, Toronto, Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Montreal, New Orleans, l. a. and San Diego, operating example. i'm quite confident a number of those will be quite cool, too.

Enough to say that it's cleaner than most cities I visited and not as smoggy as some like Los Angeles. The food is absolutely good you can get all different ethnicities in one place and many places make authentic food.

You are correct, it is not. I don't love it at all.

It can't be the greatest city in the world because I am not present. :) At best, it is perhaps a contender for "greatest city in the world not occupied by Bill." That's a worthy achievement in its own right, but it's not the ultimate.

I love Vancouver, since I was born here, raised here and love the ocean/mountains so much!
But your question is like asking a mother if they love someone else's child better than their own. It's pretty much a very personal opinion.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not. There are many, many more interesting cities in the world.
This is your opinion and unless you've traveled extensively, you know not of what you speak.
