ok so the registeration is free but what is this premium and all that stuff? do we have to pay for it?please explain!!! also tell me what would happen if we r not able to pay for the premium.what all can we do in the game if we do not opt for this premium.please explain i am totally confused.i want to join but i am scared.

I'm new to Second Life, but here's what I know....
It's free to join up.. all you need is a basic account ( all access to all things ) if you are looking for a place to hang out, game, have fun, meet people, shop and work (in game) using Linden Dollars (The SL currency). When you log in for the first time, they give you 250 L$ for free. You can 'earn' L$ in the game by doing jobs like dancing, bartending, security.... the possibilities are endless.
The Premium account lets you buy land if you want... but it is not necessary if you don't need it. You can rent an apartment or 'home' usig your L$. (I rent mine for 250L per week). Log on and try things out... see if you like it. You can always upgrade later if you decide to Start A Business or Build a Home, etc.

Going Premium is totally optional.You can still use many features of the software in the free mode.All you do is register and download the software which is about 22 mb.If you want to trade,buy things,etc. on the game,you need to go premium.
