Socially have things have become much worse since the introduction of left-wing, politically correct politics.

Or is it an influence for good?

id look past all that crap and opt for rights and freedoms before there taken away .forget the pc brigade as long as in your heart you can say your not racist say what you feel question our government point out how our boarders are open and your not happy about it in reality weve been conditioned .the problem is we are fed all this crap and people have the right idea on these matters yet for the wrong reasons .we are fed constant terror the general population ***** and moan about subjects and dont realise that nesesary rights and freedoms are being taken away as a result its called problem ,reaction, solution heres an example a man was sentenced for thought crimes last week he had planned dirty bomb attacks in the US , now this man had no funding and no way of carrying this out thought crimes? as you can imagine the reaction from the general population ,surprise surprise the next day in the paper mi5 say theres 30 terror cells in the uk planning dirty bombs ?everyones like oh ****!! ,the next day blair in the paper pointing out the laws he wants to pass one being holding a terror suspect for 90 days with no charge and no soliciitor (they can make people disapear )now thats there solution .these laws end up getting used against us .a man booed mr blair as he was going past in a car, 5 mins later the man was searched and his details were put on the terrorist suspect database or whatever bullshit name they give it ? we are being shafted world wide our governments are controlled by world banks (new world order, illuminati) the whole fabric of our society is based on lies and coruption.people need to stop relying on government as throughout history they have tryed to enslave the people .EVERYONE NEEDS TO ASK QUESTIONS they cant lock us all up for questioning our own government the people we suposedly put up there .this is so vast its quite hard to exsplain it goes very deep in substance and time .click on these two links:

In a perfect world people would do their own research on both sides of any issue and be able to think and decide which stance on an issue is right or wrong for themselves.

I am afraid those days are over.

Depending on which side of the spectrum a person falls it is either a corrupting influence or enlightening experience. I'll stick with the definition of corrupting influence. *lol*

It bothers me that such a high percentage of teachers and professors have turned away from teaching history to making history with their editorializing current events from their podiums. The youth and young adults are so easilly influenced. It is easier for them to take the information being handed to them as fact rather than to take the time or care enough to research the facts for themselves. We have left-wing leaning colleges and universities and we have right-wing leaning colleges and universities. I believe in many ways these establishments are doing much more harm than good. As a parent, I don't believe I should have to pay such a high tuition so that my son or daughter can be politically indoctrinated into one party or another. My money should be going toward earning them degrees not political leanings.

It also bothers me that the same holds true for the News Media. I remember the days when the news organizations reported the news and didn't make the news. For some strange reason newscasters and newspaper publishers and editors elevated themselves to thinking we care how they feel about issues. They somehow believe that they need to guide how we think. Well, my mind works just fine and I can make decisions for myself. You give me the facts, just the facts in regards to the news and I'll decide for myself what to believe.

Lastly forums like these. People take part in these forums and take what information they are handed as the truth. How often do you see mirror images of responses by two or more individuals. We constantly see misinformation passed off as fact simply because someone else said it, it sounds good to others and they make the facts seem true whether or not they are true.

So... in a round about way you may not like my answer but my answer is Yes. It seems to me that the left-wing is far more guilty of negative or a corrupting influence. The right-wing isn't blameless in this but they are less likely to *use* their political beliefs to try and brainwash unsuspecting individuals.

I'm not sure if there is a let and a right any more. Yes really. My opinion about the media and politicians has changed over the past few months due to rubbish personal circumstances and an almost gasping disbelief that A) The new government didt even debate Iraq or Afganistan, which makes it plainly obvious to me now that our government MUST be taking it's orders from elsewhere and has nothiing whatsoever to do with making the decisions that affect British citizens lives.. B) We are now involved in another war. I kind of see the media (not just the BBC as parasitical (if that's actually a word). Parasites who earn money by delivering us goulish reports with bloodlust that satisfies our base instincts. Of course we need to be made aware of these things, but if you want to show us what's going on then report VERYTHING. Journalists, (certainly in the UK anyway), and UK politicians are from the same class, and probably the same private schools and universities. They set the agenda, and have absolutely NOTHING in common with most people who live and/or work in the UK. Take the Daily Mail newspaper for example, who like to perpetuate the myth of working class people who own a certain type of car as being middle class. If you work, you are working class.Sorry. I really beleive that the worm is slowly turning, and the rising means of communication (internet / forums) and general disquite means that the 'great unwashed' are becoming very unhappy indeed. This stupid behaviour by our masters and the stark nakedness of the emperor who once appeared clothed is wearing very thin on public patience indeed. Very thin...

Utterly. Leftists advocate gov't control in too many aspects of our lives. This can be proven by buying a copy of the Communist manifesto. You'd be surprised how much of that book can be found in leftist ideology today. The difference between Marxism and today's American left is that socialism is Fabian, or creeping, socialism as opposed to the revolutionary kind.
Political correctness is gov't institutionalized facism in 100% opposition to the 1st amendment. Period. This is what allows any liberal losing an argument(and they are legion I know) on an intellectual level to start yipping about racism and/or greed to put the other on the defensive.
Left wing politics serve ONLY 2 groups.
1) Leftist politicians fixing to stay in power.
2) People who would rather not work for a living.

Politically Correct or PC as it has become known, started life among the Liberal elite of the USA, sometime back in the c60s. It slowly spread, just like any other plague until it landed, with other seagoing junk, on the island of Britain. Unless someone manages to break the spell, (oh Merlin, where are you!!), we're gonna be stuck in the same groove for the next thousand years.

Being PC might seem good but it stifles debate in areas such as religion, the law, politics and every other aspect of our lives.

Man is a political animal. Let the people speak.

Left wing politics works well when poverty is the only political issue and removal of poverty is the only agenda. The poor ,the ill clad and the shelterless people see God only in food clothing and shelter. Left wing revolutionised the world a few decades ago but as the young realised their potential nations shifted to right wing. U.S.S.R.,China and some other countries experimented on their own people and supplied laboratory proof that after all socialism as a state craft fails in the long run. Left is totally left by many because right only is right.

Can't see how showing respect for other people is corrupting but I must agree that there are some aspects of political correctness that I find a bit puzzling. As for your left wing association it would be nice to think that there might be some people who lean to the right who might have some regard for the feelings of others .

Just like anything else, to much of anything is not good. Yes in a perfect world there would be no need to inforce PC everyone would already have equal rights. However this is a far from perfect world ad somtimes you have to make unpopular choices. I mean who is to say what is correct or not? It's guaged by if someone was insulted? Well you don't play patty cake with your enemy.

I would say it is unbalanced and mostly bad, most schools and universities, workplaces, in fact just about everywhere these days enforce a leftist PC viewpoint, is there anywhere that doesn't ?

Were people asked if they wanted to be mind-controlled in this way? did you ever have your say in if you wanted Leftist opinion to become the only socially acceptable opinion on subjects?
